I am a singer-songwriter, arranger, producer of my own music. I am a music machine, a one-woman band. I don't remember when I started composing music, because I was so young I could hardly stand on my two feet and speak. Music comes out from the very inside of me, like a stream: words and melody, often at the same time. I have never in my life took singing/music classes. But when I started singing in front of audiences, something happened. In the past, somebody tried to convince me that I should be a professional performer. I tried: in a short time, I found myself working at high levels. I could list the "important" people I've been working with, but what for. The point is: it was somebody else's dream, not mine. All I want is to make music: I don't care about the selling and the fame and so on. I believe that either you've got the glory, or you've got the happiness in life. I don't want to live on tour. I'm not motivated enough to sacrifice myself like I should, if I was to choose music as my living.I dont' even want to be famous. I am not a team player, as well. So, what I do now is make my music and publish it online, for free, for anyone to hear. I shoot my own videos: it's fun. Music is my gift to people. I myself have received a gift and I want to share it for the simple pleasure of sharing.I don't believe that Art should make you rich. People tell me it's a pity. People tell me it's a shame. That I should go out and kick asses. That nobody around in the biz is able to do as many things in music as I am. That I'm too frigging talented to waste it all like that. I don't agree, because it's all about choices in life. There are so many more things I want to do: I'm not likely to give up anything else for the sake of music. It's a part of me, ok, an important one, but I am made of a million parts. So stay tuned and drop by every now and then, 'cause I might have uploaded some new video in the meantime. If you dig my music, e-mail me and maybe I can send you a self-made CD, when I have the time. Last but not least, I am an out-and-proud lesbian and in believe in equal rights for gay people and minorities in the world. If you wanna make friends, find me on facebook and add me. See ya. About me: I was born in Rome, Italy. Moved alone, to somewhere else, at the age of 19. Moved around for a while until I ended up in Milan, Italy, where I recorded a studio album, as a singer-songwriter, for a label. I have traveled a lot, met people from other countries, made experiences. Performed live music for a bunch of years and then quit 'cause I got tired. In 2000, I started producing my music at home, by using real instruments and software. That's what I still do: home-recording, editing and on-line publishing (Youtube). Likes and dislikes: I hate the society based on conspicuous consumption, consumerism. I hate those who want people to turn into brainless buyers who live in emptiness, frustration and disgrace for the things they will never be able to buy, or in the vane hope they'll become rich and famous one day. That's so stupid. I believe in individuals, not masses and crowds. I live like a poor, as much as I can, by buying only what I strictly need to use -not to consume- and by avoiding useless expenses. I choose good products, not the industrial shit that's being adevertised on TV. I'm a healthy eater and I work out hard everyday, in order to keep fit, healthy and good-looking. No alcohol, no drugs, no junk food. If you think a life that's free from crap is boring, well that's because they want you to think so. Sorry for you. The truth is that a healthy lifestile is exciting, and that's why I love it. I currently work as a photographer, and I run an e-shop where I sell hand-crafted objects I create. My plan for the future is to move to Canary Islands: I'm going to live in Tenerife by next year, 2012. I have a huge project and wow, I can't wait to make it happen! Erika Cecchini
